Developed to celebrate the 110th year of Singer in Turkey, the project was realized in February 2014. Our project was originated from the Singer sewing machine invented with love by Isaac Merritt Singer for his wife. Reinterpreting the traditional long pillow of Anatolia, 11 valuable Turkish fashion designers represented a life sometimes or an ideal or marriage - but above all - love. 11 pillows were offered for sale by auction at a special event organized at ICC - Istanbul Congress Center. All proceeds collected were donated to the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life for the purpose of contributing to education.

Hosted by Nur Onur who is the director of the project, this event brought together press members and many distinguished people from arts and fashion world.  

The guests were presented with a book - drawn up by Nur Onur and bearing the same title as the project - which covers some piece of information on the story of the fashion designers telling how they step into the fashion world, taking away the readers to their childhood years, and which also includes the stories of each handcrafted pillow. Following presentation of thank you plaques to the performers, the event proceeded with performances of Demet Tuncer and Sabri Tuluğ Tırpan. You can watch this event here.
