Isaac Merritt Singer wasn't interested in sewing machines only; he also invented a rock drilling machine throughout his life extending between 1811 - 1875. There were several patents secured by him before and after the patent of sewing machine. He took off in 1857 with 12 patents in the same year, breaking a record in this field.
